Worship service addresses liberation of slaves

FARGO – The Fargo Moorhead Unitarian Universalist Church, 121 9th St. S., invites the community to attend a worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday that focuses on the anniversary of the emancipation of slaves that is celebrated in Texas and much of the American South.

Claudette Peterson will discuss the history of Emancipation Day, or Juneteenth, which is observed on June 19, and pose the question, “What implications does this history have for social justice today?”
