'Antiques Roadshow' to film 3 episodes in Bismarck
BISMARCK - The "Antiques Roadshow" crew will be here this weekend filming three upcoming episodes of the popular appraisal TV show.
Marie Offutt, Prairie Public's communications manager, said about 4,500 people entered a lottery for the chance to get tickets to the event, which starts at 8 a.m. Saturday and will continue throughout the day at the Bismarck Civic Center.
The show awarded 3,000 pairs of tickets to winning registrants, with some coming from as far away as California and Florida to get their family treasures and antiques appraised by professionals here.
"People want to go to 'Antiques Roadshow,' and they're willing to travel to do that, but most of the tickets were local," Offutt said.
The show, which airs at 7 p.m. Mondays on Prairie Public, filmed episodes in Bismarck in 2005. Offutt said crews will film all day at the Bismarck Civic Center this Saturday, and from that footage, three one-hour episodes will be made that are scheduled to air in the fall of 2015.
