Style Profile: Color, prints define woman’s feminine, trendy style
FARGO - Classic silhouettes and a lively mix of color and prints define Niki Larson’s feminine, trendy style.
I spotted Larson, who’s a senior at North Dakota State University, downtown at Atomic Coffee in a colorful, summery ensemble.
Describe your style. I love classic, feminine silhouettes but really fun and trendy prints and textures.
What are you wearing today? Everything is from Francesca’s (in West Acres mall) except my shoes and bag. My shoes are from Macy’s, and my bag is Michael Kors.
Who’s your style icon? Lauren Conrad. I like how classic she is, and she doesn’t need much. She evolved from someone on a reality show to a business person. She’s someone to look up to.
Where do you shop? Francesca’s, Apricot Lane, Loft and New York & Co.
Where do you get style inspiration? Pinterest is huge for me, and I love blogs like Lauren Conrad’s and “Kendi Everyday.”
What’s your fashion philosophy? If it feels wrong, it’s probably right.
I think too many people worry about what other people think so they’ll wear things that feel safe, what the norm is.
Try something new and be confident.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet? I love a simple, classic dress. I use jewelry and fun shoes to dress them up.
What are your favorite summer accessories? I’m really into fedoras, but I love statement necklaces, too.
Who’s your favorite designer? Vera Wang, because her designs are chic and simple.
What’s your dream job? When I was 10, I said I was going to be a wedding planner, but now my passion is public relations.
I’d love to mix public relations with weddings somehow.
