Review: Orange & Cinnamon Spice herbal tea has light, citrus flavor
After reading about the benefits of rooibos tea (some say it has more antioxidants than green tea), I received a free sample of Twinings Orange & Cinnamon Spice herbal tea, made with rooibos, in the mail.
That one tea bag was enough incentive for me to immediately add the tea to my grocery list. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it in local stores and ended up ordering it online.
It’s made of rooibos (pronounced ROY-boss, an herbal red tea made from the leaves of the rooibos plant), Vietnamese cinnamon, natural orange flavors, other natural flavors, and orange peel.
The tea smells amazing and has a light, citrus flavor that requires no sweetener and is naturally caffeine-free.
Because it does not contain any sugar or artificial sugars, it’s a nice option when I’m trying to cut down on my sugar intake but still craving something sweet.
In addition to the antioxidants, www.undergroundhealth.com says rooibos tea contains magnesium, calcium, manganese, zinc, iron and high levels of flavonoids, which can relieve stomach upset and indigestion.
It can be made hot or as an iced tea.
Twinings Orange & Cinnamon Spice herbal tea sells for $3 for a box of 20 individual tea bags at www.twiningsusashop.com.
