Cap off weekend at one - or all - of these events
The region's best-known poet, Mark Vinz, returns to stores with a new book, "Man of the House: Scenes from a 50's Childhood". The collection of short prose pieces is a nostalgic look back at coming of age in a simpler time. Vinz will read passages at a 2 p.m. book signing today at Zandbroz Variety, 420 Broadway, Fargo. The Art of the Dark Film
Things are getting dark at the Fargo Public Library, 102 3rd St. N. The library hosts a four-week series called The Art of Dark Film examining the golden age of film noir. The screenings kick off today at 2 p.m. with 1944's "Laura," with film historians Tony McRae and Matt Olien discussing the works. Other showings include "Double Indemnity" on Dec. 3, "Out of the Past" on Dec. 10 and "The Asphalt Jungle" on Dec. 17. The series is free and open to the public with free popcorn served. If you're still looking to burn off some calories after a weekend of Thanks-eating, sweat it out at Sanctuary Events Center, 607 4th Ave., N., Fargo, tonight. Hinder brings its brand of gritty rock 'n roll back to town, including hits like "Lips of an Angel," "Better Than Me" and "Without You". Magnetic singer Josh Todd, formerly of Buckcherry, brings his new band, The Conflict, to add some steamy support.
