This week's big event is the Fargo Marathon, but the fun runs all weekend with music, theater and literary offerings.

Thursday

Minneapolis-based artist Reina del Cid returns to her hometown for a couple of Fargo shows this weekend. The singer/songwriter—born Rachelle Cordova—brings her blend of folk and rock to the HoDo Lounge, 101 Broadway, tonight at 8 p.m. The singer/songwriter heads up the street at 10 p.m., Saturday to play Dempsey's Public House, 226 Broadway. Both shows are ID-only and free.

There will be a whole lotta shakin' goin' on at The Stage at Island Park, 333 4th St. S., Fargo, this weekend. The annual Silver Follies show is rolling out some classics for "Rocking to the Oldies". The musical and comedy revue stars local performers over the age of 50 singing hits and acting out skits. Fargoan Timothy Murphy has a way with words. The poet explores the world both interior—his return to Christianity—and exterior—the lands he hunted and farmed for years—in his recent book "Devotions". The author discusses the book at a 3 p.m., Saturday, reading at Zandbroz Variety, 420 Broadway, Fargo. The event is free and open to the public. (701) 239-4729.

Post-Marathon bash

Even if you don't run in Saturday's Fargo Marathon, you can still take part in some of the day's festivities. Starting at noon you can get a jump on the Pubathon, a bar crawl featuring downtown Fargo establishments Old Broadway, Sports Bar, Fort Noks Bar of Gold, Rooters and Pickled Parrot. Stick around downtown until 8:30 p.m. when tribute act Pop Rocks plays hits from a variety of artists. The music will be in the parking lot behind the Old Broadway, 22 Broadway.
