Good for you, Mr. Paulson! So glad you don't have to move. Sounds like a lovely location.

I don't mind people who stay in an area like that, provided they take care of themselves as Mr. Paulson does. What irks me is when people rely on the kindness of strangers time after time to save their homes. In 2010, there is absolutely no excuse for riverfront owners not taking care of themselves.

If everyone started thinking of others first and stop putting a band-aid on the flood problems, no one would need to move. Water retention from the outmost area-all the way into all the rivers and no one would need a dike or need to move. Fargo tax-payers would not be hit with a big tax increase in the future. Everyone would not worry about what the spring is going to be like and neighbors would help each other even more than they do now. Mr. Paulson- you are not alone in the fight. Caring people will be there when you need them.
