Arthur Whitney Goering, 73, Frazee, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2001, in Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, Minn.

Mr. Goering was born July 5, 1928, in Minneapolis, where he grew up. He graduated from Breck Academy, St. Paul, in 1946. He attended University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. In 1950, he entered the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. After his military discharge, he began attending Hamlin University, St. Paul, in 1952, earning a business degree. He married Joan Courture Dec. 26, 1953 in Minneapolis. In 1957, they moved to Eau Clair, Wis., where he worked for GMAC Automotive. In 1959, he began working for Courture Electric, Minneapolis, as a residential and commercial property electrical contractor. They lived in Minnetonka, Minn. He retired in 1970. In 1985, they moved near Frazee.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Bill (Joan L.), Alexandria, Tom (Paula), Minnetonka, Minn.; two daughters, Nancy (Kirk W.) Reilly, Mary (Gregory) Mann, both Eagan, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday from 4-8, with a prayer service at 7, in Furey Funeral Home, Frazee, and one hour before the funeral in the church.

Funeral: Monday at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frazee.

Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Frazee.
