Alden and Kathryn Kempel, Stirum, N.D., celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Dec. 7.
They have three children, Angie (Kevin) Scherbenske, Bismarck, Tricia (Aaron) Gozdal, Fargo, and Doug (Alison), Stirum; and seven grandchildren.
