The Fargo Police Department has announced the closure of several roads, some of them significant stretches on major thoroughfares, that will be used for flood truck traffic only beginning at 6 a.m. today.

The closures are as follows:

- University Drive between 35th and 40th avenues south

- 10th Street between 13th Avenue South and 19th Avenue North

- NP Ave. from University Drive to the Red River

- 7th Avenue North from University Drive to the Red River

- 19th Avenue North between University Drive to Elm Street

The North Dakota National Guard will be assisting police at significant intersections to ensure the smooth flow of truck traffic and to block civilian traffic from using these roadways. Cross traffic will be allowed in a controlled manner.

Police are requesting the assistance of the public to ensure these critical roadways are kept open to allow flood fighting efforts to continue as rapidly as possible.

Andrew - the correct closure information is University Dr. between 35th Ave. N and 40th Ave. S. I live roughly 5 blocks away from the intersection of both streets on the north side.

The report says "University Drive between 35th and 40th avenues south", however the news said that it's University Drive between 35th Ave NORTH and 40th Ave South. Big difference. Anyone know which is true?
