City officials closed 40th Avenue South from 25th Street to 28th Street to allow construction of contingency dikes.
Barricades will be set aside and the avenue re-opened each school day from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. to allow students to arrive at and leave Centennial Elementary School.
