Minnesota State University Moorhead will host “Floodstock ’09,” a community celebration that will support the United Way of Cass Clay’s flood relief fund.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. May 5 in the Hansen Theatre in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts.

A free-will offering will be accepted.

MSUM’s theater department will put on the event, featuring highlights from “The Producers” that was postponed from April to this summer and water-related songs like “Rolling on the River.”

The event also will have skits involving community leaders who were notable during the flood flight.

Steve Poitras, an MSUM alumnus and Valley News Live reporter for KVLY-TV who lost his home to the flood, will serve as the emcee.

The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so tickets are required for admittance.

The free tickets will be available beginning Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. Call the MSUM Box Office at (218) 477-2271.
