JAMESTOWN, N.D. - Students and staff at the Anne Carlsen Center are returning to the Jamestown campus after being displaced by floodwaters more than two months ago.

The staff and 56 students were moved to a number of sites around Jamestown when the center was evacuated due to rising water in late March. Their return is scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

The Anne Carlsen Center helps children with disabilities or behavioral disorders.

Officials say pumps and dikes kept the main campus building and nearby cottages from being inundated with water. Only the basement of the main building and the guest house garage were flooded. The guest house foundation was damaged beyond repair.
