The rain-swollen Red River was predicted to peak Monday afternoon at about 27½ feet and then gradually recede over the next week. Recent rains had little effect on the river’s level, forecasters say. By next Monday, the river is expected to dip to 18 feet, the base level for minor flooding.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian bridge linking Fargo’s Lindenwood Park with Moorhead’s Gooseberry Park is collecting logs and other debris.
