Peterson says public option in health care reform not central focus

Congressman Collin Peterson, D-Detroit Lakes, says he is not surprised the idea of a public option for health care reform looks to be going by the wayside.

By: WDAY-AM, WDAY AM

Congressman Collin Peterson, D-Detroit Lakes, says he is not surprised the idea of a public option for health care reform looks to be going by the wayside.

On WDAY AM's "The Morning Buzz" this morning, Peterson said the public option portion of the hotly contested health care reform debate is probably the least important part.

A public option will do "zero good" if other problems with the country's health care system, including the disparity in Medicare payments, are not addressed, said Peterson, who represents Minnesota's 7th District.

Peterson hosts a health care forum this afternoon in Bemidji, Minn.

A government health care plan is a plan for no health care for normal people.

Everyone knows that Pelosi will count her health care votes, buy enough Pelosi Poodles' votes to get it passed, and then release members like you to vote 'NO' so you can brag back here in the MN Seventh District.

You caved in and sold your vote on the Cap and Tax bill a few months ago. You went Pelosi Poodle on your district for that vote.

We need you to do more than just vote against this health care bill, Collin. You need to stop this bill! If it passes - if it even gets voted on, I don't care how you voted, it will be your fault for letting Pelosi run your party.

Stand up to this ruthless gang pushing the bill down the throat of America. Go public if you are going to be against it, go on every news show and talk to every newspaper from Washington to New York to Fargo. Do it now, when we need you. Talk down Pelosi for the out-of-touch SF lib she is. Then maybe I will believe you.

Won't hold my breath on that one. Figuratively, you left the conservative Seventh a long time ago. Fiscal restraint has been abandoned for cap and tax. You've voted to quadruple the federal deficit this year. Pro-life is only a campaign slogan for you, and Pelosi makes sure you've got political cover on your voting. And now you won't even stand up to this trillion dollar health care boondoggle.

Time to get out, Collin.

John S I don't know HOW you derived I favor ObamaCare! I am complaining that Collin Peterson is not following the will of the people in his district. He will not appear in front of us! To me 95% of the bill is designed as a power play by liberal Democrats to gain power over us and to gain a voting block of all the freeloaders ho wil get free ca at the taxpayers expense. there is absolutely no way to make this cost efficient with all the baby boomers retiring in the next few years and by paying for the freeloaders
