JAMESTOWN, N.D. - Jamestown residents are calling it the Sandbag Stomp.
It's a weekend of community activities and thanks for those who helped the area recover from spring flooding.
Jodee Rasmusson is the president of the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce. She says the events kick off with a Friday night picnic and ceremony at the Civic Center to thank National Guard members for their help.
Rasmusson says the Civic Center parking lot was the headquarters for all the sandbagging and the community wants to pay tribute to those who worked so hard at it.
Also scheduled are music, games and dancing, through Sunday.
Rasmusson says it's time to say thanks, and look to the future.
