MOORHEAD – Moorhead’s superintendent of schools says it will be up to individual classroom teachers whether or not to show students President Obama’s speech to them Tuesday.

The President has a speech planned for noon EDT Tuesday to encourage students to work hard and stay in school.

But Republican critics call it an attempt to push a political agenda.

Superintendent Lynn Kovash told WDAY AM News they have had a handful of calls to individual schools about it but that’s about it.

She says though it does come at a bad time – in the middle of the school day and right around lunch time for some.

Kovash says for parents who don’t want their children to see the speech, students can go to the library.
