The Hub to reopen Playmakers, the popular restaurant and nightclub that closed in 2007

FARGO – The Hub is re-opening Playmakers sports bar.

FARGO – Playmakers sports bar, which closed in 2007, is reopening this week in The Hub Entertainment Complex in Fargo.

It replaces Hub Club, the current sports bar in the facility.

The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., has planned a Playmakers grand reopening Thursday through Sunday.

The four-day event will include a ribbon cutting, drink specials, free pizza, tailgating and a chili cook-off.The Johnny Holm Band is scheduled to kick off the new Playmakers opening with a live outdoor concert Thursday at 8 p.m.

Playmakers was a popular restaurant, nightclub and entertainment venue from 1991 to 2007.

It closed with a mock funeral in November 2007 and opened later in the month, after a $2 million renovation, as The Hub, a facility that houses seven separate bars, clubs and restaurants.
