WEST FARGO - More support for a west-side flood diversion project - this time West Fargo is backing one.

The city commission voted unanimously Monday night to back the diversion plan that would be about a mile-and-a-half west of the city.

There is another west side plan that would connect up with the Sheyenne Diversion but West Fargo Mayor Rich Mattern says they are not in favor of that proposal.

Mattern says a west-side diversion would be very beneficial to his city.

The mayor says West Fargo may be speaking to the diversion issue at the upcoming Flood Study Work Group meeting on Thursday.

Cass County commissioners backed moving forward with a west-side diversion at their meeting Monday afternoon.
