Joseph “Scott” McPherson Jr., 73, passed away on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Prescott, AZ. of complications from cancer.

Joseph “Scott” McPherson Jr., 73, passed away on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Prescott, AZ. of complications from cancer.
Joe was born October 3rd, 1936 in Red Lake, MN. He moved with his family to California in 1943, to Oregon in 1947, back to Bemidji, MN in 1948, returning to Red Lake again by 1949. By late 1950, Joe and his family moved to Larimore, ND. After graduation in 1955, Joe joined the Air Force and served four years as an Aircraft Mechanic, trained in Okinawa, Japan. While in the service, Joe married Rosella Wolfe (Fredenburg) October, 1958. In 1960 they moved to Devils Lake, ND. Joe held several jobs after the service. He eventually was hired in 1963 as manager of the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce. Joe and his family moved to Fargo in 1969 where he worked as Assistant Manager of the Fargo Chamber of Commerce. In 1971, Joe went into the Real Estate business with Fargo Investment Company. In 1980 Joe went to work with his brother Allen in the jewelry business. Joe and Rosie were divorced in 1982. Joe remarried in 1985 to Barb. In 1987, Joe and Barb moved to Prescott, AZ to pursue his career in Real Estate where they’ve lived for the past 22 years. Joe had recently retired from Red Arrow Real Estate.
He is survived by his loving wife Barb, two brothers, Allen, Grand Forks, ND, and Richard (Carol), St. Croix, Virgin Islands, his five sons, Joe III (Kim), St. Cloud, MN, Jon (Rita), Merriam, KS, Jim (Donna), Fargo, ND, Jeff (Phyllis), Broomfield, CO, and Jerrod (Lisa), Fargo, ND; two stepsons, Steven (Charlene) Holweger, Sioux Falls, SD, and Bruce Holweger, Grand Forks, ND; three nieces, two nephews, 21 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Ambroson, father, Joseph Sr., and younger brother Erwin “Buster” McPherson.
A private memorial service will be held in Fargo, November 8th, 2009, for immediate family.
