Some 700 North Dakota National Guard soldiers are less than a month into a year-long deployment in Kosovo as peace-keepers.

Lt. Randy Fuss of Lake Park, Minn., says morale among troops is high as troops are adapting to life at their camp.

He says living conditions there are pretty decent and afford the soldiers he works with, some good physical and educational opportunities when they’re off duty.

But Fuss, who previously served in Iraq, says they have lots to do as peace-keepers.

Fuss and his unit are part of a group of some 1,400 soldiers from across the nation on the Kosovo mission.

The deployment of North Dakota soldiers is the largest since the Korean War.

They first trained in Indiana, then Germany and before heading to Kosovo.
