First babies of new year born in F-M

Fargo-Moorhead’s first New Year’s babies of 2010 are twins born at Fargo’s MeritCare Hospital.

Andrew Skalicky was born at 1:52 a.m. Friday and is listed at 1 pound, 8 ounces, MeritCare’s house supervisor said.

His sister, Natalie Skalicky, was born minutes later at 2:03 a.m. and is 1 pound, 3 ounces, the house supervisor said.

The children are in MeritCare’s neonatal intensive care unit, the house supervisor confirmed.

Their parents, Cassie and Jason Skalicky of West Fargo, told hospital officials they did not wish to speak to a reporter or have photographs taken at this time.

Meanwhile, the first baby of the New Year born at Fargo’s Innovis Health is Henry Eichhorn.

The son of Lana and Dave Eichhorn was born at 4:15 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces.
