The Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation administered four funds after the 2009 flood to help individuals, businesses and agencies recover from losses tied to the disaster.
The Impact Foundation Spirit of Fargo Flood Fund raised $118,927, including matching funds from Dakota Medical Foundation.
It gave out nine grants.
The fund received 222 gifts from 214 donors.
So far, $80,500 has been disbursed, leaving $38,427 still available.
The largest gift came from Microsoft and its employees, at $44,438. The Fargo Marathon donated $6,683. Altogether, there were $93,927.18 in donations, plus $25,000 from Dakota Medical Foundation.
DMF RRV Flood Fund
Dakota Medical Foundation Red River Valley Flood Fund.
In all, $246,696 was raised, including $60,000 in matching funds from Dakota Medical Foundation.
There is $8,691 remaining in the fund, records show.
The fund distributed to:
Large donations include $25,000 from the Alex Stern Family Foundation, $25,000 from West Acres Development, and $20,000 from State Farm Insurance.
Moorhead/Clay County
The Moorhead Clay County Flood Impact Fund received $15,750 in donations, and $15,570 in matching funds from Dakota Medical Foundation.
The money was given to families in need by the United Way of Cass-Clay.
Valley City/Barnes
The Valley City/Barnes County Flood Fund received $25,150 in donations, plus $20,000 in matching funds from Dakota Medical Foundation.
A committee of community representatives was established to determine how to distribute the funds and South Central Adult Services handled the money.
There were 26 grants to businesses and families.
