Police arrested a 48-year-old Saturday in Fargo after a tipster told them the man had offered to pay her if she changed her testimony in a criminal case against one of the man’s children.
Johnny Frank Logan Jr. was arrested on suspicion of tampering with a witness, a Class C felony that Sgt. Mark Lykken said is rarely charged.
“This may be the first time I’ve heard of it,” Lykken said.
After getting the tip, cops also set up a sting operation in which they allege Logan provided an undercover officer with a prostitute, Lykken said.
Police are also recommending that prosecutors charge Logan with promoting prostitution, another somewhat rare C felony.
“It’s harder to find the source,” Lykken said.
Lykken said police found marijuana while arresting Logan, which could lead to a B felony charge of possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver.
A police officer met with a woman at a local hotel, police say, and reached an agreement of sexual acts to be performed for money, Lykken said. Tiffany Paige Noheart, 21, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of prostitution, a misdemeanor.
