Bresciani named new president of North Dakota State University

FARGO - Dean Bresciani will be the next president of North Dakota State University.
The state Board of Higher Education unanimously selected Bresciani after deliberating during an hourlong executive session. His start date is June 15 and his annual salary will be $300,000.
Bresciani, 50, is adjunct professor and former vice president for student affairs for Texas A&M University.
The board spent an hour and 15 minutes interviewing each of the three finalists today at NDSU.
The other finalists were John Gardner, vice president for economic development and global engagement for Washington State University, and Gary Miller, provost and vice president for academic affairs and research at Wichita (Kan.) State University.
Twenty-nine people applied for the position.
