Elizabeth "Betty" Craig, 51, West Fargo, ND, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, following a nine year battle with ovarian cancer.
Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Lill was born on June 15, 1958 in Langdon, ND, to Arthur and Genevieve (Stevens) Lill. She grew up in Alsen, ND and Langdon, and graduated from Langdon High School in 1976. Betty married John Craig on July 3, 1976 in Langdon. While John was in the military, Betty received a certificate from Rutledge College in San Diego, CA as a Law Office Secretarial. Because of the military they often moved, living in the Chicago area, San Diego, Santee, CA, Newport, RI, Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Guam. When John retired from the Navy in 1992, they returned to North Dakota. She worked the past thirteen years at Noridian Administrative Services in Fargo.
Betty is survived by her husband, John; son, Ian (Michelle); daughter, Heather (Mike) Livingston; granddaughter, Hannah Livingston, all West Fargo; five brothers, Darrell Lill, Moncks Corner, SC, Ken Lill, Fergus Falls, MN, Tom (Doris) Lill, Alsen, Rodger (Mary) Lill, Vergas, MN, Mike (Kris) Lill, Roseville, MN; four sisters, Sandy (Alex) Dettling, Devils Lake, ND, Diana (Greg) Lanz, West Fargo, Brenda (Mark Taylor) Huck, Fargo, ND, Cathy Lill, Devils Lake; mother-in-law, Dulcie "Bobbie" Craig and sister-in-law, Dale (Dave) McDonald, all San Diego, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant child, sister-in-law, Bonita Lill and father-inlaw, J.A. "Tony" Craig.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be directed to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic or National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
Memorial Service: Monday, June 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. in West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND.
A private inurnment service will be held June 18 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.
