A shop is planned to open soon in downtown Fargo where little girls can become princesses.

Princess Party Boutique, 616 Main Ave., will be available for birthday parties and tea parties. It has a dress-up room where girls can try on princess dresses, shoes and jewelry.

There will be makeover parties where girls can have their hair, makeup, and nails done.

Fairy-tale princesses will also make appearances.

Owner Debbie Inocencio of Grand Forks, hopes to open next week or the following week.

“I just thought, what a fun way for little girls to have their parties,” said Inocencio, whose daughter is almost 5 and loves dressing up like a princess.

The shop will also sell princess accessories. To schedule a party, call (701) 330-5089.

Travel shop opens new Fargo location

Maps, Travel and More has opened in its new Fargo location in the Times Square East Plaza at 4950 13th Ave. S., across 13th Avenue from Walmart and Sam’s Club.

The business was in West Acres Shopping Center for two and a half years but moved to make room for Forever 21, a clothing and accessories store taking nearly 20,000 square feet in the former Walgreens site and adjoining spaces.

Maps, Travel and More offers maps, topography maps, travel accessories, flag-related items, globes, language books, dictionaries and DVDs.

The business opened in its new location in early June. Hours are

9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

“We’re a little nervous about trying to start over again,” said Dale Weiler of Fargo, who owns Maps, Travel and More. “When there’s a disconnect, it’s amazing how people will lose sight of you and think you’re gone.”

But he said he’s optimistic, and the shop is located next to AAA travel in a busy area of town.

Construction starts on new clothing store

Clothing and accessories store Forever 21 has started construction on its new location in West Acres Shopping Center.

The store will occupy the former Walgreens; Maps, Travel and More; and Tradehome Shoes spaces in the mall. The nearly 20,000-square-foot store is the largest store to open in West Acres since J.C. Penney in 1979, a news release said.

Forever 21 merchandise mixes contemporary, classic and vintage-inspired pieces that change weekly.

The West Acres store will carry Forever 21’s women’s clothing, accessories, swimwear, lingerie and shoes as well as the Heritage 1981, 21MEN and Love 21 brands.

“We’re really looking forward to their opening this fall,” Alissa Sorum, West Acres marketing director, said in a news release. “Our customers have been asking for Forever 21, and now it’s coming.”

The official opening date will be announced later this summer.
