Motorists on Interstate 29 can expect delays next week as crews continue work on bridges along a half-mile stretch of the highway between Interstate 94 and Main Avenue.

Lane closures will take place as crews make improvements to four I-29 bridges: 17th Avenue, Texas Turn, 13th Avenue and 9th Avenue. The project is scheduled for completion in late September.

Speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and prepare for sudden stops, merging traffic and heavy congestion because of high traffic volume.

Within a week or two, those traveling on I-94 west of Fargo can expect delays as similar projects take place on the Kindred, Wheatland and Raymond interchanges. For more information about this and other North Dakota Department of Transportation projects, visit www. NDDOTFargo.com.
