WINONA, Minn. - Winona County employees may soon be restricted from staying in hotels that offer pay-per-view pornography under a proposal before the county board.
On Tuesday, the county commissioners will consider adopting a ``clean hotel' policy, although there would be several specific exceptions.
An issue paper prepared by the county says the policy could reduce sexual and domestic violence, which studies have linked to pornography.
County Administrator Duane Hebert tells the Winona Daily News that when county employees travel they would typically be reimbursed only if they choose a porn-free hotel.
The rule won't apply if a hotel is the ``host site' for a conference the employee is attending or if staying at a pornography-free site would cost more than 15 percent over another hotel.
