FARGO - A few days delay won’t be stopping the Bada Bing strip club from opening up in the next week.
Club owner Mike Benzinger said once the architect plans are approved by city inspectors, his crews will have the place in tip-top shape within a couple of days and he hopes to re-open sometime early next week.
Today, Benzinger said architects and contractors are poised to begin reconstruction but the appropriate city official needed to approve the building plans was out of the office until Monday.
Once he receives the necessary permits, Benzinger says he does not expect construction to take long.
“I got at least 25 guys that will be out there working,” he said.
Bada Bing opened at 4349 48th Ave. N. on Oct. 16 but was shuttered a week later when city inspectors declared the former warehouse unsafe to enter until brought up to code.
At the time, Ron Strand, head of inspections for the city of Fargo said the building would need sprinkler installation, additional plumbing and more exit signs among other renovations.
Benzinger said he won’t let any city delays derail his plans.
“I’m going to make a point of this,” Benzinger said.
The building is in Fargo’s extraterritorial zone and previously served as a storage facility for an electronics company.
Bada Bing touts itself as being the only fully nude strip club in North Dakota.
Alcohol is not served and patrons, above the age of 18 are allowed.
