FARGO - Another year, another high ranking for Fargo as a healthy place to live.

Men's Health and Women's Health magazines ranked among the 10 best in the annual America's Best and Worst Cities.

The city ranked No. 2 for both men and women.

In a news release issued today, the rankings for the January/February issues - set to appear on magazine racks Tuesday - said Fargo has added plenty of new jobs in the past two years.

"Because employed people stress less, they have a decreased risk of heart disease and cancer. Additionally, Fargo’s average life expectancy of 80 years was the second highest of all cities surveyed."

The release also said:

"To determine which cities were the most inhabitant-friendly, Men’s Health and Women’s Health took into consideration 100 cities and over 30 key criteria spanning everything from cost of living to cancer rates, life expectancy to healthy eating and exercise habits. They also gathered and calculated data on death and obesity rates of male and female citizens in each location. Finally, the magazines considered quality of life including factors such as the ratio of single women to single men (and vice versa)."
