MOORHEAD - A special Moorhead City Council meeting has been scheduled for Thursday evening for board members to consider a proposed settlement with Fire Chief Joel Hewitt.

Hewitt has been on paid administrative leave since August, when he came under investigation for release of private data and prostitution.

Last week, the Becker County Attorney's Office declined to file charges on either allegation.

In a news release issued after 5 tonight, the city directed recipients to visit its official city web site for a copy of the agenda.

The web site shows one item on the agenda: "Consideration of Proposed Settlement and Release Agreement between City of Moorhead, Minnesota and Joel Hewitt."

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Moorhead City Hall Council Chambers.
