In response to Dawn Aberle of Moorhead regarding pending North Dakota HB 1353 legislation:

How come additional money needs to be required to further define non-tobacco policies in our government-run and public-funded schools when existing “No Smoking” signage is unquestionably, certainly, without a doubt and definitely definitive already? Why should we subsidize people to use the patch when they are already paying $25 for a carton of cigarettes? I believe the anti-smoking campaign has reached the point of diminishing return in terms of health warnings and may in fact be a distraction from other regular health care concerns.

Let me clear my throat and clear the air. In my opinion, the smoking gun from across the river appears aimed at tarring some of our North Dakota Republican legislators. Support your own Minnesota HB 1353 if you want. I do not smoke and recognize the hidden dangers of smoking … guns.
