Outdoor fun, learning offered at state parks

GLYNDON, Minn. – Lake Bronson and Buffalo River state parks in northwest Minnesota will each host one-day outdoor recreation and skill-building workshops.

GLYNDON, Minn. – Lake Bronson and Buffalo River state parks in northwest Minnesota will each host one-day outdoor recreation and skill-building workshops.

Buffalo River State Park near Glyndon will host the “Outdoor Fun Day for All Ages” from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 6, offering classes in archery, fishing, orienteering, digital photography and making your own trail mix. Snacks will be provided and preregistration is not necessary. For more information, call the park at (218) 498-2124.

Lake Bronson State Park near the city of Lake Bronson will host “Getaway Outdoors 101: Fur, Feathers, Fins and More” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20. Outdoors skills classes will be offered, including camping, fishing, bird watching/hiking, archery, trapping, canoeing and plant identification. A lake boat tour will also be available. Lunch will also be provided, and pre-registration is encouraged. For more information, contact the park at (218) 754-2200.
