HANKINSON, N.D. – A 25-year-old Mooreton woman was identified Tuesday by the highway patrol as the victim of a motorcycle accident earlier in the day on Interstate 29 near the North Dakota and South Dakota border.

Mallie Breuer fell off a motorcycle driven by David Berning, 34, of Wahpeton, after it collided with another motorcycle driven by Ryan Breuer, 27, of Mooreton, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

The patrol says the two motorcycles were northbound on I-29 at mile marker 4 in Richland County when they collided in the right lane. Berning's motorcycle began to sway and his passenger fell from the rear of the bike.

Mallie Breuer was pronounced dead on the scene, the patrol said.

Neither driver was injured.

The crash, reported at 12:09 a.m., remains under investigation. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Hankinson Fire Department, LifeFlight helicopter and Hankinson and Wahpeton/Breckenridge ambulance services responded to the crash.
