Sanford Health, clinic in Alexandria step toward possible merger

FARGO – Sanford Health and the Broadway Medical Center in Alexandria, Minn., announced today they have taken the first step toward a possible merger.

FARGO – Sanford Health and the Broadway Medical Center in Alexandria, Minn., announced today they have taken the first step toward a possible merger.

Broadway Medical Center is a clinic with 34 providers and two locations: one in Alexandria, located 100 miles east of Fargo-Moorhead on Interstate 94, and another in Parkers Prairie.

The Broadway Medical Center’s services include allergy, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, hospitalists, internal medicine, OB/GYN, endocrinology, oncology and podiatry.

“Our vision is focused on what’s best for our patients in the Alexandria region, and how together we can grow what we’ve started,” Dr. Doug Griffin of Broadway Medical Center said in a statement.”

Dr. Bruce Pitts, president of Sanford Clinic in the Fargo region, said the merger would enhance access to services for patients in the Alexandria area.

“We’re confident there are opportunities for growth and partnership in the Alexandria area,” Pitts said in a statement.
