Zombie ammo available in limited quantities

DULUTH – It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it?

Hornady Manufacturing, a major supplier of ammunition, has come out with a new product called Zombie Max.

That’s right. Rifle and shotgun ammunition specifically for use against zombies.

“Just in case,” as the packaging states.

Craig Rudd of Superior Shooters Supply said the new ammunition is hard to get, and the shop has a very limited supply of it.

“It’s a self-defense ammo,” Rudd said, tongue in cheek. The ammunition could be used “in case of the zombie apocalypse.”

The ammunition itself is no joke. It comes in several popular rifle calibers and a 12-gauge shotgun load. Its labeling makes clear that it’s live ammunition and “not a toy.”

“We’ve had a number of phone calls on it, and a number of people have been in to ask about it,” he said. “But it’s very difficult to get.”
