Allcare Dental files bankruptcy petition

Allcare and 14 affiliated companies filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy papers in Buffalo, N.Y. The initial meeting of creditors will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at the United States Trustee’s Office in Buffalo.
The Fargo clinic closed in January, and more than 90 patients filed claims with state consumer protection officials. The first 20 claims totaled at least $80,000.
The landlord of the clinic, which was located at 4302 13th Ave. S., is trying to recover $21,500 in unpaid rent.
A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is a liquidation procedure. State consumer protection officials said earlier that if Allcare filed for bankruptcy, it could be difficult for claimants to recover their money.
