Lester & Shirley Johnson

An open house to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Lester and Shirley (Norman) Johnson, Walcott, N.D., will be held from 10 a.m. to noon March 11 at the Richland Lutheran Church near Walcott. Family and friends are invited to join them for cake and coffee following the 9 a.m. church service.

They were married March 8, 1952, at Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock, Minn.

Lester farmed near Walcott and is supposedly retired. Shirley is a farm wife and the best cook and bread baker in the world.

They have five children: Debbie (Scot) Hintermeyer, Bloomington, Minn.; Linda (Robert) Gylland, Fargo; Gregg (Nancy) Johnson, West Fargo; Scott (Carrie) Johnson, Walcott; Wendy (Andre) Malgouyres, Aix-en Provence, France; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
