DO wash and dry your hands periodically during rolling.
DON’T get water in the cake-and-frosting mixture.
DO make the cake balls smooth enough to prevent bumps.
DON’T roll them too tight, or holes or cracks may appear.
DON’T let the balls sit on the baking sheet too long or one side will become flattened.
DO add shortening to thin the candy coating if it’s too thick.
DON’T stir the pops in the coating.
DO (carefully!) rotate the stick to get the whole ball covered.
DO tie a colorful ribbon at the base of the pops or wrap tinfoil around the sticks to hide mistakes.
