Reception today for Val Farmer, wife Darlene

FARGO – Friends of Val Farmer have organized a reception from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Rheault Farm, 2902 25th St. S., for the former Farmers’ Forum columnist and his wife, Darlene.

FARGO – Friends of Val Farmer have organized a reception from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Rheault Farm, 2902 25th St. S., for the former Farmers’ Forum columnist and his wife, Darlene.

Farmer is a Fairfield, Mont., native who lived in Fargo for several years and now works out of Wildwood, Mo. From 1997 to 2006, he was affiliated with MeritCare in Fargo while writing his column for the Farmers’ Forum.

After nearly 30 years as one of the top voices in issues of rural life, Farmer’s last column appeared March 30.

He and Darlene, his wife of 41 years, are going to Mongolia in May for 23 months to help families with history and genealogy work.
