CUSTER, S.D. — Jewel Cave National Monument and Wind Cave National Park will offer free tours beginning Saturday in celebration of National Park Week.

The free tours last through April 29.

Jewel Cave is offering a one-half mile Scenic tour that takes visitors through the cave. A 30-minute Discovery tour will offer visitors a chance to see formations like calcite crystals.

Wind Cave's one-hour tours are moderately strenuous.

Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The temperature in both caves is about 50 degrees, and light coats or sweaters are recommended, along with sturdy walking shoes.
