Mark & Marlene Nielsen

Mark and Marlene (Thompson) Nielsen, Lake Park, Minn., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house hosted by their family from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 16497 N. Leaf Lake Road, Lake Park, Minn. No gifts, please.

They were married July 20, 1962, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, N.D. Mark taught at Moorhead Senior High School until he retired in 1995. Marlene taught at Park Christian School, Moorhead, and retired in 2001.

They have four children, Peter (Stacey) Nielsen, Littleton, Colo.; Andrew (Kirsten) Nielsen, Duluth, Minn.; Hans (Brenda) Nielsen, Fargo; and Heather Nielsen, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
