Krista Thom’s Top 10 Fargo-Moorhead Vegetarian Restaurants

  1. HuHot offers an array of veggies, noodles and meatless sauces. If you ask, they’ll even clean the grill and erect a barrier out of spatulas to make sure no meat comes in contact with your food, Thom said.

  2. Xtreme Pizza Kitchen gives customers the option of using Daiya vegan cheese, but they also have pizzas on the menu like the Mountain Veggie and The Vertical that don’t require a substitute, Thom said.

  3. Kobe’s offers several sushi rolls and other menu items that are entirely meat-free.

  4. HoDo takes pride in sourcing as much as possible from local farmers and ranchers and will accommodate almost any dietary preference, Thom said.

  5. Pita Pit devotes an entire menu section to non-meat protein and carries items like the spicy black bean, falafel or hummus pita.

  6. Passage to India offers Indian food, which traditionally relies on lentils, chickpeas, eggplant and potatoes, Thom said.

  7. Qdoba offers warm tortillas filled with beans and veggies and because everything at Qdoba is made in front of customers, it’s easy to customize the menu choices, Thom said.

  8. Drunken Noodle offers a special vegan menu upon request and will alter dishes to exclude animal products, Thom said.

  9. Thai Orchid prepares most dishes with customers’ choice of protein and tofu is an option. Vegetarian items may contain fish sauce or shrimp, so make sure to ask for food to be prepared vegan, Thom said.

  10. Taco Bell: Most items on the menu may be ordered without meat and the refried beans and guacamole are free of animal products, Thom said. But watch out for the sour cream because it contains gelatin, she said.
