CIRCLE PINES, Minn. — Family and friends have said goodbye to a 9-year-old Stillwater boy who died from a suspected rare amoeba infection.
Funeral services were held in Circle Pines on Saturday for Jack Ariola Erenberg.
Jack recently swam in Lily Lake in Stillwater. Health officials say that's where he likely contracted the severe brain infection.
Minnesota's only previously confirmed case of the disease was in August 2010. That 7-year-old child also swam in Lily Lake.
KSTP-TV reports that Lily Lake remains closed until further notice.
