North Dakota Barbecue Championship, all day event, Sickie’s Garage, 2525 9th Ave. SW, Fargo; contestants compete in ribs, pork and chicken; individual categories crowned and combined scores from all categories determine grand champion; $5,000 in prize money will be split among winners; judges are Eric Berg and David Newman of NDSU’s Meat-Animal Science Department.

Pancakes Galore and More, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 14th St. S., Moorhead; sponsored by Vikingland Kiwanis; silent auction will also be held; adults cost $5 in advance or $5.50 at the door, children 6-12 are $3.50 and ages 5 and younger are free.
