Chocolate Fantasy and Chili Too, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Holiday Inn, 3803 13th Ave. S., Fargo; sample hundreds of chocolate desserts and chili with all the fixings; silent auction items will be available for bidding; proceeds benefit the YWCA Emergency Shelter; tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for ages 65 and up and $7 for children in grades K-12. The Black Bib Affair, 6 to 9 p.m., Ramada Plaza & Suites, 1635 42nd St. S., Fargo; a tribute to the culinary excellence of chefs and their restaurants in the Fargo-Moorhead area; each chef offers a selection of their signature appetizers, entrees or desserts in a tasting period, followed by a live auction; a silent auction and wine bar will be held throughout the tasting period; local restaurants and chefs donate unique and creative dining experiences that are auctioned off to the highest bidder; $80 per person. North Dakota Barbecue Championship, all day event, Sickie’s Garage, 2525 9th Ave. SW, Fargo; contestants compete in ribs, pork and chicken; individual categories crowned and combined scores from all categories determine grand champion; $5,000 in prize money will be split among winners; judges are Eric Berg and David Newman of NDSU’s Meat-Animal Science Department.
Pancakes Galore and More, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 14th St. S., Moorhead; sponsored by Vikingland Kiwanis; silent auction will also be held; adults cost $5 in advance or $5.50 at the door, children 6-12 are $3.50 and ages 5 and younger are free.
