I was born: Sept. 1, 2012, at Glencoe (Minn.) Regional Health Services.

My parents are: Laura and Mike Kuvaas, Hutchinson, Minn.

My grandparents are: Larry and Carol Maiers, Stewart, Minn., and Al and Carol Kuvaas, Pelican Rapids, Minn.

My great-grandparents are: The late Maynard and Lorraine Ostermann, Gaylord, Minn.; the late Rita Maiers, Stewart; the late Joseph Maiers, Sleepy Eye, Minn.; the late Alfred and Annie Kuvaas, Perley, Minn.; and the late Arthur and Doris Jacobson, Kenmare, N.D.

My parents chose my name because: Two of Mike’s great-grandfathers were named Soren and Allen is Mike’s dad’s name and Laura’s dad’s middle name.

Parents’ wish or advice for the new arrival: We wish that each day our little man is here, the world becomes a better and more kind and caring place.

Something special: Birthday cake and ice cream was on the menu in the hospital cafeteria so mom got a special treat on her son’s birthday.
