Lately I’ve been taken with the scent and flavor of mint. It’s cool and refreshing in the summer, yet warm and comforting at Christmastime. It works equally well in an icy mojito as a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

Mint touches so many of our senses: it’s a distinctive color of green, an unmistakable fresh scent and flavor, and when used in skincare, tingly to the touch.

I’ve long loved Andes mints and Hickory Farms Mini Melt Away Mints, and make my own peppermint almond bark for the holidays. Here are a few more of my must-have minty food, beverage and beauty products.

Green Tea with Mint

Doctored with cream and sugar, mint-flavored green tea is one of my favorite evening treats. I got hooked on it after trying a special holiday blend from Trader Joe’s. I also like this Bigelow brand sold at local grocery stores.

Girl Scout Thin Mints

These crispy chocolate wafers don’t last long in my house, and I’m not alone in my love for them. According to the Girl Scouts website, Thin Mints are their top-selling cookie. A countdown clock at www.girlscoutcookies.org tells you how many more days, hours and seconds until cookie season. An acceptable alternative till then is Keebler Grasshopper cookies.

Coffee-Mate Peppermint Mocha creamer

Something I looked forward to each winter was the seasonal sale of this mint chocolate coffee creamer. With it, I can replicate delicious coffeehouse lattes at home. Now, lucky me, it’s available all year long.

Rosemary + Mint shampoo and conditioner

I took a chance on this Suave Professionals scent, not actually sniffing it before I bought a bottle. It smells pleasantly like fresh herbs, and lives up to the “invigorating clean” label claim.

Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Leg and Foot Crème

I was given a tube of this soothing lotion after my daughter was born. It’s tingly and refreshing on tired feet, and is said to encourage healthy circulation.

Mentha Lip Tint

Gotta love a double-duty lip product: This plum lip gloss gives nice color and shine, and is infused with 2 percent Peppermint Oil for fresh breath. Made by C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries of New York (apparently no relation to the tea brand), I bought my tube on sale at Bath & Body Works.
