MOORHEAD – The almost 90-year-old Alma Schott had nearly nine decades of experience in the kitchen.

Schott died Oct. 7 after a stroke, but her cooking will live on in a cookbook.

Her expertise and recipes will be available to the public in December when the North Dakota State University Libraries release “Alma’s Favorite Recipes: Cooking & Memories from a German-Russian Farm Kitchen.”

The cookbook will premiere at the Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase Nov. 16 through 18 in Fargo.

Schott, a Gackle, N.D., native, most recently resided in Moorhead. She pleased the palates of family and friends for decades. She learned to bake and cook as a child, and it became an important part of her life.

The cookbook includes recipes for the perfect pie crust and delicious borscht.

Creative Kitchen at West Acres will carry the book.
