Season of cheer: Holiday concerts, plays, other special events

FARGO – Thanksgiving has come and gone, which means that the holiday season really gets going.

Over the next month, the Fargo-Moorhead area will be full of all kinds of festive, holiday events for young and old.

One highlight of the season is the annual Concordia Christmas Concert, which always draws full crowds and gets people into the holiday spirit.

As always, people can look forward to another colorful, festive backdrop mural for the concert. Work on the massive mural started last week, but the panels will travel to Minneapolis later this week before returning to Moorhead for concerts on Dec. 7, 8 and 9.

In addition to that concert, there are other music events throughout the coming month. Join The Blenders for their annual concerts at the Fargo Theatre, or celebrate the season with some fiddle and strings at “A Celtic Holiday Concert,” also at the Fargo Theatre.

Holiday plays and theater events are aplenty this season as well. From “It’s a Wonderful Life” at The Stage at Island Park to “The Classic Nutcracker,” put on by the Fargo-Moorhead Ballet, there’s no shortage of options.

Keep your eyes peeled for Santa Claus, of course, as he makes his rounds at area libraries, the Fargo Air Museum, Rheault Farm, the West Acres Shopping Center and many other places throughout the region.

Remember to keep checking back to The Forum and inforum.com as more holiday events are added by community groups.

Between the caroling, the special events and the holiday cheer, this is truly the most wonderful time of the year.
